PSG Reach Champions League Quarterfinals with Victory Over Dortmund

Second-Leg Victory Secures Aggregate Advantage

PSG Advance Despite Fans Being Barred From Stadium

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) progressed to the quarterfinals of the Champions League on Wednesday, March 11th, 2020, with a 3-2 aggregate victory over Borussia Dortmund. The Parisians secured their passage through to the next round with a 2-0 win in the second leg at an empty Parc des Princes stadium, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

After a goalless first half, Neymar broke the deadlock just before the hour mark. The Brazilian forward collected a pass from Kylian Mbappe and fired a low shot past goalkeeper Roman Burki. Angel di Maria sealed the victory for PSG in the 77th minute, curling a free-kick into the top corner.

Despite the absence of fans, the atmosphere inside the Parc des Princes was still electric. The PSG players celebrated their goals with passion, while the Dortmund players were left to rue missed chances. The German side had several opportunities to score but were ultimately let down by poor finishing and some heroic defending from the PSG backline.

The victory was a significant one for PSG, who have been desperate to win the Champions League for many years. The Parisians have invested heavily in recent seasons and will be hoping that this is the year they finally achieve their goal.
