Farage's wife says they have been living separate lives for 'some years'

Nigel Farage's wife has said she and the former UKIP leader have been living separate lives for some years.

Kirsten Farage told The Sunday Times that the pair have been living apart for "quite a few years" and that their relationship is "over".

The couple have two children together, a son and a daughter.

Farage has not commented on his wife's claims.

The former UKIP leader has been married twice before, to Gráinne Hayes and to Claire Rich.

He met Kirsten Mehr, a German-born businesswoman, in 1999 and they married two years later.

Farage is a controversial figure in British politics. He was a leading campaigner for Brexit and is now the leader of the Reform UK party.

He has been accused of racism and xenophobia, but his wife has defended him, saying that he is "not an adulterous racist".
